Tyler Ov Gaia combines the styles of the past and future into a holistic continuum.

His DJ sets aim to create an immersive experience, gradually leading the audience into an energetic ritual. Tyler is active in the Italian underground circuit, where he shares his concept of music as a cathartic, transformative practice.

He has been a resident for 12 years now at the legendary NUL (Milan) and for 7 years at The Sanctuary Eco Retreat, whose magical, artistic and psychedelic spaces have allowed him to gain fame as a true virtuoso of the decks.

In addition to synthesizers and electronic devices, he also works with ancestral instruments like Gongs and Divya.

In his music therapy sessions, he combines various techniques, including guided meditation, bodywork and touch.

Fascinated by cross-cultural symbols and the “The Hero With a Thousand Faces” by Joseph Campbell, upon graduating with full marks in Historical Sciences at the Università Statale di Milano, he took a personal path of cultural, spiritual and political research. He is a published author of two books, in which he found a synthesis between academia and underground imaginations.

As a DJ and producer, he explores the music genres by experimenting various grooves and tempos.

His sonic realm includes the tranquil melodies of ambient music, dark green vegetations, ethereal elements, dub, percussion-driven electronica and ecstatic psychedelia.

Among his several studio collaborations, Tyler Ov Gaia carried out long sessions with Harald Grosskopf (Ash Ra Temple, Klaus Schulze), with whom he produced some new material that became part of the EP titled “Dream Theory”, released under the Permanent Vacation (Munich) label, which included some oneiric tracks capable of creating a vibrant and mind-boggling vibe.

His new adventure is the foundation of a label devoted to his idea of a holistic rave.

The label’s name is Oblio Sonoro. Each release is printed on eco-vinyl and everything - including the sleeve, the vinyl and inks – is recycled.

Oblio Sonoro’s first release is Lysergic Mythologies, an EP of unpublished tracks by Loop Guru, which Tyler Ov Gaia recovered from the original tapes of the ‘90s.

The artistical research authenticity of Tyler Ov Gaia was recognized by some important Italian avant-garde festivals like Tone of the Stones, Club to Club and Transart, which invited him to perform at their events.

The world of contemporary art is also interested in his sound, so much so that Tyler Ov Gaia also creates soundtracks for performances, permanent collections and site-specific projects. Among the institutions for which he has created sound journeys we find Manifesta and the pavilions at the Biennale di Venezia.

Tyler Ov Gaia aims at exploring connections rather than divisions, providing distinctively rich, genre-busting tapestries that transcend all limitative roles.
